About Robert Oppenheimer

Robert Oppenheimer, an American theoretical physicist, is famous for his participation as scientific director in the Manhattan Project during WWII. Many remember him as the“Father of the Atomic Bomb”. Oppenheimer’s research ranged from nuclear physics and spectroscopy to quantum field theory. His most notable achievements in his field are the Born-Oppenheimer approximation and the Oppenheimer-Phillips process. He contributed greatly to the popularity of American physics in the 1930s.
