About Thomas C. Schelling

Professor Schelling is an American economist who shared the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences in 2005 with Robert Aumann. He studies bargaining and strategic behavior and the concept of focal point, which is a solution that people will tend to use in the absence of communication, because it seems natural, special, or relevant to them. He is well known for his analysis in game theory. Schelling has been involved in the debate of global warming since the 1980s by addressing it as a “bargaining problem”.
