About Clifford Geertz
Clifford Geertz was an American anthropologist who studied symbolic anthropology. He believed that symbols guide action and are means by which people communicate and develop their attitudes towards life. He conducted his research in Southeast Asia and North Africa. His contributions to social and cultural theory helped to illuminate anthropology to the public.
