About the Lecture

This lecture considers the dynamic relationship between structures of constitutional governance within the United States through an exploration of federalism (national/state relations) and localism (state/municipality relations).  The comparison between these complex doctrines illuminates tensions in contemporary constitutional law; and it also reveals some interesting strategies and opportunities for negotiating constitutional conflict in our modern policymaking environment.
