Akira Iriye is the Charles Warren Professor of American History at Harvard University. His interests extend beyond diplomatic relations between the United States and Pacific nations in the early and middle years of this century to include China and Japan in the global setting and the globalization of the United States. Iriye has authored more than ten books on United States foreign policy in the Pacific region, with works spanning the turn of the century through the Second World War.
