About Robert Nozick

Robert Nozick was an American philosopher and professor at Harvard University. He was a prominent political professor in America in the 70s and 80s and researched decision theory and epistemology. He wrote Anarchy, State, and Utopia (1974) as a libertarian answer to John Rawl’s A Theory of Justice (1971). His book argues that a distribution of goods is just if brought about by free exchange among consenting adults and from a just starting position, even if large inequalities subsequently emerge from the process.
